Microsoft, founded in 1975, is one of the largest software and cloud companies in the world. Its Azure AI services include Microsoft Translator and Azure AI Speech, which power real-time translation, captioning and speech synthesis in Teams, Office and thousands of third-party applications, and its partnership with OpenAI puts large language models at the center of Copilot. Microsoft is also historically one of the largest buyers of localization services, shipping Windows and Office in more than 100 languages, and its own shift toward AI-first localization workflows is closely watched by vendors.
