The Canadian Language Industry Association (CLIA) is reflecting on a year of significant progress and transition as it wraps up 2025. President Peter Madahian expressed gratitude to members, the Board of Directors, and the Executive Committee for their dedication, which has propelled the association forward amidst rapid developments in AI and shifting procurement expectations. Key events like WorldSpeak in Montreal showcased Canada’s growing global presence, while CLIA’s advocacy efforts have strengthened connections across regions and associations.
This year marked a pivotal moment for the localization and language services industry, with CLIA enhancing member support through initiatives like a 10-week AI Upskilling Course and expanded webinars on critical topics such as cybersecurity and quality standards. The association’s active participation in national and international discussions ensures that the interests of its members are represented in key decision-making processes.
Looking ahead to 2026, CLIA aims to deepen advocacy efforts and foster greater collaboration within the industry. Members are encouraged to engage actively, as their involvement will shape the future of language services in Canada.
